Today in a joint press release, Wallace Software Solutions (Riverside, RI) and Huggins Outboard Computer Programs, Inc (Raleigh, NC) have announced compatibility of their offerings for aftermarket parts cross reference.
There are over 100 aftermarket companies that make parts that fit OEM marine engines. For example, Sierra, SEI, GLM, and CDI make parts that fit Yamaha, Mercury, Volvo, and Evinrude engines. Wallace and Huggins could each invest in the research and development to provide this data to their customers; Instead, Wallace and Huggins have entered into an agreement where Huggins is providing this data to the Wallace customers that need this information. This agreement will benefit both Wallace and Huggins customers as these companies strive for the best resulting products through additional research and collaboration.
Wallace customers will benefit from this relationship because of the additional aftermarket information in the Wallace dealer management system. Huggins will benefit from additional users and feedback on their parts cross reference research. Both companies are pleased to be working together for the benefit of the marine industry.
